Vesta Tile & Stone is a commercial subcontractor working in Kentucky and southern Indiana. It has been in business for ten years and has participated in building some of the finest architectural structures in the region with installations of tile and natural stone.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Read tile shop drawings to determine location and pattern for tile floors and walls
- Clean and level the area of surface to be tiled
- Measure and cut tile as required for correct fit on the surface to be tiled
- Prepare and apply mortar to surface to be tiled
- Install tile according to tile shop drawings in the prepared area
- Instruct and work with the Tile Finisher assisting with preparing surfaces for tile for installation, setting up areas to be tiled, unboxing/mixing tile and grouting
- Assist Tile Finisher to grout tile when necessary to complete the tile installation
- Apply sealers when specified
- Inspect finished project for quality and cleanliness
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Competent with use of power wet saws, drills, trowels and all other tools of the trade
- Knowledge of tile setting materials and accessories such as thin set mortar, waterproofing membranes, leveling compounds and metal trim pieces
- Experience with the installation of many different tile shapes, sizes and patterns
- Ability to read tile shop drawings and layout tile installation as specified
- Understanding of the industry standards required to be met for a quality tile installation
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills
- Accurate in work product with attention to detail
- Positive attitude in performing job functions as a team member
- Aptitude for timeliness and organizing work sequence
- Respectful and courteous to everyone at all times
