Vesta Tile & Stone, LLC (“Vesta Tile”) is a leading regional hard and soft surface subcontractor servicing Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana. It was founded in 2010 as part of the Rosa Mosaic Group of companies. The Estimator reports directly to the Chief Estimator of the company. The position will assist with many facets of the estimating department, including project submittals, sample requests, material procurement, shop drawing development, and quoting primarily commercial projects for tile, natural stone, and other architectural products.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Estimate material and labor quantities from architectural drawings and specifications to bid projects
- Issue quotations in a timely manner based on completed estimates
- Develop shop drawings indicating patterns, details, field layout, custom designs, and locations of various materials
- Develop project-related questions directed to architects for clarifications to ensure complete information is gathered prior to bid dates and documented for field personnel after contract award
- Understand and maintain budgets during material procurement for projects under contract
- Manage submittal process including sample requests, product data, LEED information, and shop drawings with a view to bringing material costs for project within or under budget
- Attend initial project meetings for construction schedules and updates
- Establish order dates based on current construction schedules, procure materials to meet established project start dates, and maintain updated progress schedule
- Respond effectively and promptly to external requests for budget pricing and pre-bid samples from architects, designers, and construction managers
- Assist general contractors and construction managers with value engineering for projects exhibiting budget constraints
- Nurture and maintain good relationships with customers and suppliers
- Proactively participate in industry training to stay current on new products, installation methods, and other innovations
